C’est le ton qui fait la panique

In this episode, we discuss verbal cyberviolence, particularly that emanating from some compatriots in the diaspora. These Congolese living abroad remain deeply connected to their country of origin. Despite the distance, they play an important role in public debates. But their discourse, amplified by social media, provokes mixed reactions, sometimes even tensions.

Where we live can influence how we express ourselves. And for some Congolese living abroad, this freedom of expression, combined with geographical distance, gives rise to critical, sometimes inflammatory, discourses on the political and social situation in the DRC. These discourses often reflect legitimate frustration. But sometimes, they are perceived as excessive and disconnected from local realities. So, how can we understand this language? What is its impact on our lives together? And how can we build a respectful dialogue between Congolese here and elsewhere?
