In Ebola-hit, war-torn eastern DR Congo, where radios are shutting down and journalists are fleeing, Habari za Mahali keeps affected communities informed when they need it most. Every day, a humanitarian bulletin — in French, in Swahili, and in local languages — reaches displaced families, host communities, and frontline responders. Health, water, nutrition, safety: the practical information people need to get through the day.

We cover the emergency the world is watching and the crisis it too often forgets. But we do’t just broadcast — we listen. Through 200 mobilized journalists across around 65 community media outlets, the needs of those affected travel straight back to humanitarian actors, for aid that is fairer, faster, and more useful. To keep that work sharp and neutral, we hold regular online trainings and editorial debates with our journalists. And with our radio drama Kumbuka Kesho, hope and peaceful coexistence find their place on the airwaves too. More than one million people already reached. One conviction: no one should be left without information — or without a voice.
