            <title>VACANCY: PROJECT MANAGER/EDITOR FOR DRC</title>
            <description><![CDATA[We are looking for an experienced media professional to manage a mixed media project for promoting reconciliation, trauma healing and peace building in the DRC.&nbsp; <br />This is an ambitious scheme centered around radio broadcasts and backed up by community-based activities. Proven experience (five years) in developing, managing and supervising educational radio drama and other radio production work including feature making and live studio work.&nbsp; <br />2. Evidence of sound editorial judgment.<br />3. Experience of media reconciliation. <br />4. Fluency in French (preferably a native speaker).<br />5. Working knowledge of English. <br />6. Knowledge of Kiswahili a definite plus.<br />7. Proven experience in NGO project management, especially financial, administrative and logistic management.<br />8. Good communication and team-building skills.<br />9. Experience in managing media related grass roots activities.<br /><br />Desirable skills<br /><br />1. Knowledge of digital radio production.<br />2. Experience in working in Africa (preferably five years), especially the Great Lakes<br />3. Region and by preference in (post) conflict zones.<br />4. Experience in social action broadcasting/campaigning.<br />5. Strong computing skills - Microsoft Office.<br />6. Experience in local capacity building.<br />7. Abilities to work long hours in an unstable, complex and sensitive political environment.<br /><br />Must be self-motivating and able to relocate to Eastern DRC (North Kivu (pending stabilization of security situation) and South Kivu). This is a non-family duty station.<br /><br />The vacancy is to be filled immediately.             <description><![CDATA[<p>Robert McCourt is a freelance documentary producer and has recently worked for Al-Jazeera, the BBC and Channel 4 television. He has filmed and directed several promotional videos for charity including AMREF and Pump Aid. McCourt is currently working on a BBC project to be filmed in India.<br />
